If you pick someone other than Rayya to be your steward at Falkreath then you’ll have 1x housecarl and 1x steward residing at Lakeview. If you ask Rayya to be your Steward you will only have 1x steward-who-is-also-housecarl at Lakeview, you can’t re-assign the post, and Lydia (or anyone else) can’t be appointed housecarl at Falkreath (Lakeview).

I built Lakeview Manor in Falkreath and made Rayya my steward. Stewards in both the other manors will function normally and I can ask them to acquire livestock, horses, and such. But Rayya gives no such service. Can’t seem to get her to purchase horse, chickens, cows, etc or hire bard or carriage. Cannot understand why there is no conversation that opens this function.

take lydia to lakeview manor, then talk to her, make her steward of lakeview manor. correct answare, she can be a steward at any of the homes you build. Once she is a steward of that home, she is there permently, if you don’t want to marry her.. you can only have 1 steward per house build.

I just started playing Skyrim and I’m at the same point too. I’m thinking about getting Illia to Steward Lakeview because of the necromancer that spawns below in the skeleton ritual thing.. And also keeping Rayya as housecarl because I read bandits and giants will attack the manor and kidnap my character’s wife, although I haven’t seen any giants nearby, and I killed all the nearby bandits.

I like Uthgerd but her unprompted lines stay the same so you have to listen to her say over and over how to get to know a Nord woman and to “keep walking, softgut”, which is a bit rude to say to one’s employer, I must admit.
